Hebrews 13:8- Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Happy New Year! As we step into this new year, I want to encourage you that the same God who walked with you and brought you through last year is the same God who will be with you this year. He is holding you and helping you through whatever this year holds for you.
At the close of the year and the beginning of each new year, I always say an inner prayer giving the new year to Him. I want the year ahead to be guided and directed by Him. I want to stay close and connected to Him. I want to encourage you to do the same.
Let’s remember that God is the same God of the Bible, and He does not change. He wants us to stay close to Him and trust that He loves us and has a purpose for our lives. He’s the same miracle working God, and He still does miracles today.
He’s the same God who created the earth out of nothing. Genesis 1:1-2a– In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void,
He’s the same God who spared Noah and his family from the flood in Genesis Chapters 6-9
He’s the same God who spared the Israelites from the 10 plagues in Exodus Chapters 7-12
He’s the same God who parted the Red Sea in Exodus 14.
He’s the same God who provided manna in the desert for the Israelites in Exodus 16.
He’s the same God who kept the Israelites clothes and shoes from wearing out- Deuteronomy 29:5– I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn off your feet.
He’s the same God who parted the Jordan River in Joshua 3:14–17.
He’s the same God who made the walls of Jericho fall down in Joshua 6:1-27.
He’s the same God who made the sun stand still for the Israelites in Joshua 10:12–14.
He’s the same God who is acquainted with grief. Isaiah 53:3a– He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
He’s the same God who spared Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego from the fiery furnace in Daniel Chapter 3.
He’s the same God who spared Daniel in the Lions den in Daniel Chapter 6.
He’s the same God who walked on water in Matthew 14, Mark 6 and John 6
He’s the same God who fed 5,000 with only 5 fish and 2 loaves of bread in Matthew 14;13-21.
He’s the same God who fed 4,000 with 7 loaves of bread and a few fish in Matthew 15:32-39 and Mark chapter 8:1-9.
He’s the same God who healed the sick, and cast out demons. Matthew 8:14-16; Matthew 4:23-24; Matthew 15:30-31; Luke 4:40-41
He’s the same God who raised people from the dead. Mark 5:21-24, 35-43-(Jairus’s daughter); Luke 11:1-45- (Lazarus); Luke 7:11-17- (The Widows Son)
There are many, many more examples in the Bible of Gods healing, provision, power and miracles. He is a great God. Our changing situations and circumstances don’t change who He is.
We can trust that He does not change. We can trust that He’s a good God. We can trust Him because He’s the same God.
Many blessings,
Desiree
