Armor Up

Ephesians 6:11-13- Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the rulers, authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

We are continuing in Ephesians chapter 6. In last week’s blog, we talked about how we  need to stay strong because we are in a spiritual battle. We are in a spiritual battle against satan and his demons. If we have given our lives to God, we are soldiers in God’s army, and we are working to advance His kingdom. The enemy does not want this.

God has given us His armor to be able to withstand the attacks and schemes of the enemy. The enemy attacks us with lies, discouragement, sin, distraction, just to name a few.

Our struggle is not against people. It is against the devil and his demons. This is the reason we need to put on the whole armor of God and not just some of it. We need to use every piece of the armor. It protects us and positions us to fight back at the enemy. It helps us to stand, which means to be steadfast. Steadfast means to be firmly fixed, strongly devoted, unwavering.

The days are evil. We need the full armor of God to stand strong and stay strong in the battle. We need the full armor of God so we don’t give up, give in, or waver.

We will be talking about the different pieces of the armor in the coming weeks. I encourage you to listen to the song “Fighting A Battle” by Shane and Shane. This song encourages me every time I listen to it.

I Corinthians 15:58- Therefore my beloved brothers (and sisters), be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in thd Lord, your labor is not in vain.

Stay strong, soldier, and stand.

Many blessings,

Desiree
